as a skynani fan i'd say the psychology behind it is just chemistry and genuineness. like really reguardless of if they kiss in a show, we cant deny they have the same type of chemistry other couples have and i love alot of couple. its kinda just that simple.

I love SkyNani so much what they let us see is their true feelings for each other, real friendship and love no fan service. Seeing how comfortable they are with each other is so amazing. I personally don’t care if they do bl or not and I’m pretty sure they won’t. I would be happy if they do but I don’t think they are comfortable with that and that’s okay as long as they don’t lose that closeness and friendship I will be happy I don’t need them to kiss each other to appreciate their chemistry and amazing performances in their series.

As a Sky and Nani fan, I do agree with a lot of what you are saying. We know Sky is stubborn and he will NOT do fan service and it is true that Sky does NOT want to commodify his relationship with Nani. Those who follow them just know cause they have gotten even more secretive about their private time and what they say and do and gift each other. Just one thing, it is true that Sky chose Nani for HSF but I don't remember there being any talk about a long term partnership being had at that moment. It was only after HSF blew up that they chose to be a duo together, it isn't something they planned before

I think it doesn't help that hsf had a lot of romantic leading lines and they get ads that want to play into BL and then that trailer backlash. I think ppl won't be subdued until they either play cousins/family on screen instead of 'bromance' or they play a queer character separately or together. DewTee definitely seem to get by because of the fact they were in a BL or going to be in a BL pairing. Also Gmmtv has the boys join BL if they want more opportunities in singing or hosting etc but SkyNani are getting best of both worlds. I definitely think just having male friendship focused shows is important but idk if they can pull that off right now; they need a male friend group show instead.

about them queerbaiting what I saw at least recently is how their current series "Wu" was marketed and advertised, so many people thought it will be a BL series. But when trailer came and series started airing it was clear it isn't a BL, but a bromance. So people feel cheated, baited and kinda disappointed. And that's why they call it queer baiting, coz if people thought it will be a BL series then it was advertised this way just to make BL fans interested and invested and to be fair making it more popular. Not only series, but SkyNani too. Coz people thought they will change into BL pair and even if not everyone was agreeing with it, there were discussions, just people talking about it, making more people involved etc. Also because it was going to air on GagaOOLala which is platform supporting LGBTQ+, so for people it was confirmation it will be a BL. And when it was clear it won't be a BL, people were mad and GagaOOLala removed "Wu" from their platform and ended this collaboration. And to be fair I kinda agree with people. I wasn't invested in this, but it should be clear that it won't be a BL, but a bromance and it should be advertised as a bromance and not trying to fool BL fans just to get more views etc. I saw many people saying they won't watch "Wu" just bcs of how it was advertised. Some people even said they won't support SkyNani anymore. So there is a problem. You said actors can't be queer baiting, but they agree to portrait these characters who are queerbaiting and portrait this story. They aren't forced to do so, they can choose what they want to do. Director of Me and Thee said they wouldn't work on this series if PondPhuwin chose different project. They get some propositions from gmmtv and they choose one they want to do. If they don't like all of them, then gmmtv will try to find something else. JoongDunk were like this, they didn't like all projects presented to them, so they got DYTD instead. I mean I kinda don't understand how you are saying SkyNani can't be queerbaiting. Coz they are. If they chose this story, these characters and acted as them then they are queerbaiting too. And last thing is about bromance.

as a skynani fan, i don't want sky to do a bl as well. looking at how the fans of nl ships act whenever one of them acts in another project,i dont want a renowned experienced actor like sky to get into that jail. i want to see him bless my screen like he does now. sky and nani will decide what they wanna do with each other in real life. its non of our business. people cant appreciate good crafts these days and its honestly so sad.

Honestly, I love that for them. Not everybody pairing have to be a romantic one. I love the bromance they have. They're just showing a different type of love, friendships between two guys. That can be interesting too. Not everything have to be turned into a bl, especially if the paring doesn't want that. That doesn't make anybody homopbic (idk how they made that correlation) Some people simply just don't aren't comfortable and thats fair 😭. If SkyNani aren't interested in that, they should stop bothering them about "bl this", "bl that", "this queerbaiting". I'm sure they're very annoyed to constantly hear those things. At the end of the day, people need to realize these are real people, not robots you can just boss around. The fanservices are sweet and all but they are not a bl couple, never was, so I don't know why people are so adamant about them being something they're not. They have a nice relationship that are so sweet to see without the fanservice, why people are so against that? Anyways I'm writing too long, I'm just as frustrated with seeing those things too😭

also being in a bl pairing is a very particular experience and fans have certain expectations from the pairing bc of the way the industry has made pairings profitable AS pairings. not everyone is ready for or wants the kind of work they would need to do. quite frankly i don’t think many fans could let go of a pairing once they do work together (e.g. ohmnanon, netjames). you’d need to be prepared that any future partners and future pairings would receive backlash, that and that you’d be known as a pairing instead of individual actors once you move on. if they create a partnership they still get a partner and the benefits of working with another person in that way but by saying from the beginning that they’re not a couple pairing, they might have hoped people wouldn’t obsess over them as a pairing in the same way. clearly things turned out a little different on the fandom side of things but this is just a possible reasoning. even if it’s not in this case, in other cases past, present and future, this could be a reason they could choose to do something like this. we’ll never know company and actors true reasons but we shouldn’t always just jump to the worst one.

tbh i agree with this. sky has always this look that appears whenever hosts try to push them doing fanservice, and he is doing a good job deflecting those. just this recent interview p'godji asked skynani if they went out to eat and sky says they planned to eat in chiangmai but didnt bcoz staff was there filming them. dont get me wrong, i'm a shipper too and i like that there is evidence but i do not like that it's at the expense of their private time. i think that skynani are private people and whatever things they slip through just shows how their friendship/relationship has grown over the years.

Honestly I'm new to the whole BL world. I didn't know exactly what was going on. I was only upset that they were going to be put on Gaga. Other than that I wasn't upset with the whole series. I started watching it because it looked so good. WU is a masterpiece to me. The cinematography is great and seeing them acting, I feel I see them as friends. Like I don't see the chemistry as a ship. That's my opinion anyway. But I love WU and what they are doing with it.

So many of the points made in this video have been trapped like hurricane in my head for so long but I just figure out how to get it out. Especially the doubled edged sword that is fan service participation and assumed level of comfort (& queerness). as a Penguin, I've been watching your videos for a long time. I remember repeating the same things you used to say on Twitter back when SkyNani was just starting out. ppl who only know Sky through GMMTV don't really know who he was during his Nadao days. I was actually talking to my girl friends about how BillkinPP fans view fanservice and how there's almost a shared understanding among them that it's a kinda dishonesty they don't wanna bring into their work. Most of the time our opinions are pretty similar and I agree with everything you said in that video

Another unpopular opinion: Sky does not seem the type to want to be bottled or narrowed down as an actor. It could be the "autonomy" factor that you mentioned. Sky, unlike other GMMTV idols, is not an IDOL, he is an actor first. And he has proven track record/resume to leverage. He is well known and liked in the industry prior to GMMTV. Bringing Sky to GMMTV helps elevate their quality of projects not the other way around. And if he wants diversity of projects, something like Wu, for e.g. he is not the type to get pulled down just because he is part of a cp. That's not fair for him. however, recently, I do see a shift in him & he has become more "accepting" of the fanservice. but i doubt it will ever reach the level of bl cp. it is why I do understand the whole queer-baiting discourse. I'm like the fact that they do not want to do it should PROVE that they do not want to bait fans to like them as a pair. also, as u said, even Sky must have not expected the popularity to sky-rocket over one project. he was actively trying to avoid the shipping yet it still happened. there are some things beyond his control. and yes, it is Sky, because while Nani was popular, none of his projects before Sky gave him a chance to completely shine as an actor or individual. it is also why Sky chose him. one thing u should know is that Sky is clever.

Being in BL ship comes with a lot of limitations that I understand why someone might not be comfortable with that, look at the amount of hate BL actors get even for hanging out with friends without their partners sometimes, heck even Sky got unhinged amounts of hate for going to his dream country with another friend instead of Nani and they are not even an official ship! I also remember once he said he hates being cornered into doing things and that his reaction to that is to do the opposite…

I am also sure that the direction of their partnership was mostly Sky's choice. It doesn’t seem like it will ever turn into a true BL. I don’t see any problem with that cause there are tons of other couples who can sell all types of content to the audience. But it disturbs me that the more they refuse to do fan service and act in a traditional BL, the more hate they’ll receive, because being good at acting alone and respectful to your onscreen partner is not enough today. Eventually, this can lead to the end of their partnership. They have been my favorite couple for two years now, and I haven’t felt this much interest in any other couple before, BL or otherwise. Just hoping for the best and supporting them is all I can do. Thank you for posting this video, it is an interesting point of view. I would like to hear more of your thoughts about them

people many fans say bilkin and pp don't talk or show stuff to public bilkin is very private person he doesn't like to show same as pp as a pair u never know what is going between them just as sky so I got this point very clear and people need to let people live private lives not everyone is comfortable in showing everything to people even in friendship or anything

this reminds me of how Teetee and Por ( P2TP ) never really physically touch eachother when posing for fan service. 2Tee will keep a closed fist as well just so it’s clear they aren’t touching… but staff will take clips of them when off camera being really clingy. i LOVE that they aren’t doing these things for the public/ pay and making it obvious
