I used to only watch school teachers kids for this reason, summers off with my own kids. Worked well. Something to consider, finding families that only need care during the school year.

I highly recommend marketing your day care to teachers who would love to have their kids home during the breaks!! most daycares require them to pay to hold their spot for weeks the kids don’t come so you could just make an adjustment to your rates / plan accordingly and I think that would be amazing!

I have done daycare mainly out of my home for the past 17 years. I also have 4 older children and as I TRY to do is still to this motto “Daycare has to work for my family, not my family revolve around d daycare.” I fail in that many times but I’m so excited for you to have your summer free to do what your family wants and needs! 🥰

Jessica why dont you do daycare mon wed thur and you will still be able to spend time with them also on days you are closed and weekends to be with them too

I've had my home daycare for 35 yr this Aug. My kids are grown now but it was super hard in the summer the older my kids got. I totally get what you're saying 🩷

Your vulnerability has me teary-eyed. As a mama of three boys - 19, 16, and 12, you are exactly right about not getting the time back. Your family needs to be the priority right now and that’s okay.
