@rachnicolefit: Wearing ~15-20lbs of full police gear in the Florida heat is no joke. Shift prevailing, getting my steps done early is the goal! If you’re in the same boat with working outdoors or being stagnant for most of your work day absolutely prioritize movement on any/all of your breaks throughout the day! Good idea to get those steps in early before work. The day can quickly get away from you in policing. I think I saw before that you meal prep for work. I fell into the trap early in my policing career of grabbing fast food on the go and drinking energy drinks in the early hours. We did 12 hour shifts, 2 days then 2 nights and then four off. Rinse and repeat. Stay safe out there please 🙏
