@misinformedmedia: Research and development tax credits – which are paid to mining companies by the government are – are exploited by mining companies to cover their normal operating costs. From an R&D consultant website: The Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive (RDTI) is a government-supported initiative that has the potential to provide your Australian enterprise with a cash rebate of up to 48.5%, aiding in the reduction of associated risks and expenses.
you don't have a clue about the low returns on mining relative to the risk capital

As someone who has worked in the resources sector for over 30 years in three continents and within 8 companies your claim is just incorrect.

Yes, the Mining companies are doing a wonderful job supporting the economy for Australia for our future. And yes, they pay $0.30 to the dollaring tax, it's not an easy job. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

Bingo. Australia is a shit show because the tax payer is footing the bill for primary producers. Agriculture and mining have alot to answer for. This sector throws up political parties to perpetuate the subsidies for mismanagement. Immigration my arse!

CORPORATES say they need money to find New Gas fields.
So when they get a FAILED bore, they can right it all off. 👍
BUT THEY SAY THEY NEED THE MONEY, AND DON'T WANT TO BE TAXED, like this new 25% TAX, PAYING FOR AUSTRALIA'S GAS RESOURCES.
So they don't pay ATO TAX like SANTOS, from the start, right through to the finish.
**Don't you just love Rich, Wealthy Corporate, Australian Capitalism. 🤮

This is the exact template used to ensure they can shoehorn ex-politicians into cushy jobs inside these multinational neo-corporations to lobby the government ministers. Thereby keeping their buddies and mates employed within the government's own guidelines. Need to amend the contract politicians are employed under by stipulating a clause that stipulates they are completely ineligible to be employed in any capacity that has dealings with contractors that do business with any level of government. It's a usual, almost an expected clause of any professional employment contract along with a non-disclosure clause for periods anywhere between 12 months to 5 years. ✌️😎✌️😁
