I love how u validate him that he does not need to change his view / opinion / perception ! He listened to u & people change their minds slowly, over time. I like how u explain we the people” do not allow his opinions / his perceptions to dictate our lives. in a free society, identity & expression must be free.

that's exactly right. the difference is that we will fight for their right to be deplorable human beings because it's their right to, but once they start using their religious beliefs to legislate or strip people of Rights, that's the problem. they feel like their freedom is under threat if they're not allowed to tell other people how to live their lives. they just don't understand how hypocritical and nonsensical that is.
