Before anyone knew what a lodge was, there was a Roblox player named Loj.
Loj was obsessed with obbies. Every day he practiced jumps, wraps, and tightropes. His favorite game was Eternal's Tower of Hell, where players climbed giant ten-floor towers filled with difficult obstacles.
One day, while practicing in a fan-made tower, Loj noticed something strange.
Between two walls on Floor 7, there was a tiny gap—barely wide enough for a character.
"That's probably a building mistake," his friend said.
But Loj was curious.
He squeezed into the gap.
His avatar got stuck.
Then it started shaking.
Everyone expected him to reset.
Instead, Loj slowly began moving upward.
"No way."
His character climbed higher and higher between the walls, despite there being no ladder, no truss, and no platform.
The physics engine was trying so hard to push him out that it accidentally pushed him up.
Loj reached the next obstacle without doing the intended jump.
The entire server erupted.
"WHAT WAS THAT?"
Loj jumped back down and tested it again.
Sometimes he moved upward.
Sometimes sideways.
Sometimes he got launched out of the gap completely.
The closer the walls were, the stranger it became.
Soon players across the tower-building community started experimenting. Tower creators began hiding tiny wall gaps in practice maps. Obby players searched every floor looking for places where they could reproduce the strange movement.
People started saying:
"You got lodged."
And because the first player everyone associated with it was Loj, the nickname stuck.
Within weeks, stories spread through the community.
Some claimed Loj had climbed an entire floor of a tower without touching a single obstacle.
Others joked that he could beat every tower in EToH just by becoming one with the walls.
The rumors got so ridiculous that players began telling newcomers:
> "If you get stuck between walls less than two studs apart, the spirit of Loj will carry you to the next floor."
Of course, that wasn't true.
But the name remained.
