I'm a single mom. Every time I try to do something for myself, I end up regretting it. If I buy myself a new outfit, the washer will tear up or something and I feel like the money should have gone toward that.

I love that we were a lot alike. I did the same to my girlfriend. She would buy me anything. I would say I’d like something and she would take it off the rack and say OK I’m getting it for you and I would say no just because I like it doesn’t mean I have to have it and she would say no I’m buying it for you. But she would never buy anything for herself so one day I told her I needed something and we went to the store and I kept pointing out stuff to her and said to her do you like this or this would look good on you or isn’t this pretty and she would say yeah that’s nice. I like that so by the end of the trip I had about five things in my hand and when we got up to the cash, she said oh I didn’t notice that you found those and I said it’s not for me it’s for you and she’s like what I said no you’re getting this stuff because you never buy yourself anything so I’m buying it for you! Jill, you did a beautiful thing for her. We have to do things like this for our girlfriends if they won’t do it for themselves, we have to show them how to do it! my friend would never do anything for herself by the time I was done with her she was having her nails done also some people need to be shown how special they are and that it’s important to take care of them self.🙏🏻☀️
