I definitely understand it was a hard decision to part with it and forge it into something for a greater cause. However it comes out when finished it'll be an epic piece! Looking forward to seeing every step of the process! ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

Hopefully you see this and answer cause im curious. but if the viking steel is already high carbon. couldn't you technically, through repeated fold and fluxing get a clean billet out of it? and would the edges retention already be ideal because of its high carbon nature. again please correct me if im wrong. but it would be pretty cool to use the whole thing in a very ornate and true to style sword as a center piece of your norseforge gathering

I'm a little confused. Did all the metal that you put inside melt down. otherwise your viking steel will just be a chunk at one end

Vikings didnโt have an any amount of steel to waste. Mainly used iron with steel edges. A lump of steel like that wouldnโt have been just left without being forged and worked into something.
