@jonocatliff: After 1,000 hours using Claude Code, here are 7 tips that actually matter. First is MCPs. You can connect Claude to your favorite apps like Gmail, Slack, and Airtable so it can actually do work for you instead of just talking about it. Tip #2 is building Skills. These are reusable workflows you create for yourself. For example, you can type /blog and have Claude generate an entire blog post for you. Tip #3 is creating a CLAUDE.md file. This defines the rules and standards Claude should follow. For example, mine enforces a 9/10 quality gate before publishing LinkedIn content. Tip #4 is using bypass permissions mode. This stops Claude from asking, "Can I do this?" every 10 seconds and keeps it moving. Tip #5 is using split screen. Drag any conversation into a second pane so you can run multiple tasks at the same time. Tip #6 is Claude's memory. Tell it about yourself once, and it can remember useful preferences and context across future conversations. Tip #7 is /insights. This gives you a view of your usage patterns and helps you understand how you're actually using Claude over time.
