@dr.matthew.parker: What I wish Psychiatry residency taught me part 5…balance. The availability of jobs for Psychiatrists after residency is both a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing to be able to have so many opportunities to find your niche, but a curse because of how easy it is to call victim to some predatory jobs. One skill all Psychiatrists need to master is knowing when to say “no.” Knowing when a paycheck is enough, knowing when the time spent is enough, and knowing when to turn it off.
