The Bearded Vulture intentionally carries large bones high into the sky and drops them onto rocks to break them open and reach the nutritious bone marrow. 3. Because of their orange-rust coloration, many people think it is natural plumage, but Bearded Vultures actually bathe in iron-rich red soil to stain their feathers.
