I have Both and the Ally X is not better. Yes it is on paper. But try to use it as your daily driver! Try it! You will go crazy. That crappified Windows, that wannabe Xbox Overlay and all the launchers and overlaid additional UIs and everything needs an update every 5 minutes, which you can’t control because why would you … It drove me bananas. I got so tired of waiting for a chance to purchase a Steam Deck, so I got an Xbox Ally, it has its own problems but when it comes to games, with a bit of tweaking, you can play most games on there and it tells you if the game is compatible with the handheld or not so you don't waste your money on a game that isn't.

Z2 and Z2E are definitely the best option at this point, I love my deck, but dropping a grand on it wouldve been outrageous. Hopefully in the next 5 years we see an ARM based Steam Deck using the knowledge they gain from the Frame.
