@highlinenyc: What does it look like to bring a slice of the High Line home? Parkgoers had the unique opportunity to discover what this means today during our inaugural plant sale! At our Rooted in Resilience: Plant Sale & Talks event, visitors had their first opportunity to purchase plants propagated directly from our gardens by the very hands that tend them. It was a beautiful day to explore the High Line's selection of climate-resilient plants while taking a deeper dive into the ecological benefits of our plants alongside our horticulturists. Friends of the High Line's selection of plants—both at today's sale and in our gardens year-round—were selected for their “urban grit,” the ability to thrive amidst a changing climate, cycles of drought and deluge, and the unique limitations of city light and soil. Every plant purchased from today's sale supports Friends of the High Line, the nonprofit conservancy responsible for the High Line’s gardens (and maintenance, public events, and art, too!). Thank you to everyone who came to the park for Rooted in Resilience: High Line Plant Sale & Talks! By bringing these expert-selected species home, parkgoers are able to contribute to vibrant urban ecosystem that cleans our air and provides vital respite for the pollinators and birds that call New York City home.
