Looks like a good setup. Only issue I see is if the water pump goes down you don’t have any volume to hold them over if it takes a day or so to get water going again but you could turn them out in the pasture where your pond is so not really that big of a deal for you

We used them on cattle at the house. It’s easy to train cattle to use and I don’t ever remember them freezing and that was up in the Texas panhandle
