@hannahbevington: Maybe a little controversial, but I don't plan to increase my pension contributions. I understand there are tax benefits to putting more money into your pension, but my pension is on track to retire me with over £1.35M (minimum), so I'm good with that. Instead, I'd rather focus on investing that additional money into a Stocks and Shares ISA because that way I have full flexibility over when I can access it. Is this silly of me, or should I actually be putting more money into my pension? #pension #PersonalFinance #isa #investing
67 is when I can access my employer pension , which is a disgrace who wants to work that long. So I am looking at a stocks and shares isa too

How much do you put in monthly into your pension? Including employers contributions

Do a mix of both. Massive tax relief that compounds, aim for isa to be a big pot for flexibility and to bridge gap until whenever can access private pension

Love this Hannah! You have to think of the accessibility element especially if you’re aiming for an early retirement 👏🏻

I've taught my two sons the importance of having a great pension plan, just as important is having an isa to act as a cash buffer so your not stuck waiting to retire based on the retirement age set by the government. Personally I think it stinks that if you go hell for leather on the pension savings and have a huge amount, you should be able to take that when you decide, not when the government decide!
