I lived in the UK for 8 years and when it is hot, it is unbearable because there is no AC anywhere to get cool. the electric prices in the UK make it almost impossible to run an AC and since the real heat days are rare (usually about 6 days a year) you are never prepared. I don't miss trying to sleep at night with windows open and no screens. night nightmare. now I'm back in NY with my central air conditioning lol

UK electricity is crazy high. Running an AC might be cost prohibitive. That being said, it’s summer. It gets hot every year. It’s not unexpected.
