Low-key, Clark made me realize shit that I didn't even know about myself. All my life Ive thought myself to be misunderstood or an outcast because of "circumstances". It wasn't them, but me. My inherent flawed personality. I didn't try to understand them, like they tried to be with me. I didn't change, therefore they didn't settle. Looking back, they were much more mature than me that I ever thought I was. I misdirected their concerns for my personality as being "not understood enough" thus, I continued to be bitter, and consequently became a loner. I then began questioning what led to that, to this. Clark, the character in the movie showed me that. He showed me that nobody will settle forever with something negative beside them, that's the only sensible and the mature thing to do. He showed me that if you won't change, things that go your way won't change either. Consequently the more people view you as bitter, the less people sociate themselves to you. It may be why Clark had too little to no costumers. As long as the actions done surrounds around you, who is bitter towards the world, will be much harder to connect with other people. That is the general view. And in this movie, that view is actually valid. Because Clark is bitter, bitter to his ex, bitter to people, bitter to the world but not himself. It is why Clark resonated with the Backrooms so deep. Because not only was he alone in that alternate worldwhere he has only himself,he was already cemented as a bitter person in the real world.
