Always take a kid to the emergency room after an incident like this. It’s called dry drowning. Water in the lungs can kill you

It was Christmas, I had to go to the car to get something. I asked specific family member to watch him (multiple kids and cousins around) and they assume they’re used to the pool gate like all the other kids and listen. Come back and my son is past the pool gate sitting on the step playing and nobody noticed!! He’s 3 years old it is that serious!

I saw a momma in a video once say each child needs an adult with them each time they go out and she’s got four kids as of rn and her mom and brothers are always with each of her kids.

Former lifeguard, 5 kids, oldest 3 are on a swim team…every kid of mine gets a life jacket in the water, youngest 2 keep them on at all times. If you’re deeper than knees a parent is with you in the water. Period. It’s terrifying how relaxed a lot of parents are around water with their young children.

I love the fact that you kept calling him a baby even though you originally said he was 3-4 years old. Because it’s easy to forget that’s exactly what they are - BABIES. It’s so important to remember kids of all ages need 24/7 supervision in/around water.
