capitalist industrialization must stop Theodore John "Ted" Kaczynski, better known as the "Unabomber", was an American terrorist and former mathematics professor. Between 1978 and 1995, he carried out a series of letter and parcel bomb attacks, in which 3 people were killed and 23 others were injured. His attacks were primarily directed against universities and airlines. The most important basic facts about his life and his deeds at a glance: Origin & Career: Kaczynski, born in Chicago in 1942, was considered a highly gifted prodigy. At the age of 15, he began studying mathematics at Harvard and later became an assistant professor at the University of California. Exit: In 1969, he gave up his academic career and moved to the wilderness of Montana as a dropout. There he lived in a remote, self-built hut without running water or electricity. Ideology: Kaczynski wrote the 35,000-word manifesto The Industrial Society and its Future. He argued that modern technology and industrialisation are destroying human freedom and devastating the environment. Arrest: The investigation work of the responsible UNABOM task force (university and airline bombings), which lasted almost 20 years, ended on 3. April 1996 with Kaczynski's arrest in his cabin in Montana. Conviction: After his arrest, he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. He escaped the death penalty by pleading guilty in 1998 and was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of probation. Death: Kaczynski died on 10. June 2023 at the age of 81 in the detention hospital of a federal prison in North Carolina. #fy #nature #money #industry #health
