@renduh: Is magnetic dryer venting effective? Sure. But is it really worth the money you spend on it if it poses a safety risk? That's entirely up to you, but personally, I wouldn't trust it in my own home. Regardless of how you choose to connect your dryer venting, it should be cleaned or replaced once a year as regular maintenance to prevent dryer fires. #dryer #DryerFire #MagneticDryerVent #DryerVenting #ApplianceRepair
yeah that advise makes no sense bc if metal items can go in the venting then it doesnt matter if its magnetic or not, wherever that ends up will heat up magnet or not

The point of the magnet is to make it easier to clean, so I'll clean more often, so I'll find the metal debris before it's a problem 🤷♂️

Serious question, wouldn’t we want something that catches things that aren’t lint like that bobby pin? Like where do they get built up or go otherwise? Obviously a big ol magnet there isn’t the trick but what is?

Why has the idea of heat pump dryers not caught on in the US? Their instantaneous wattage is low enough to run on your 120V grid and they’re so much more efficient and less of a fire risk, and the condenser and lint trap removes the need for these complex exhaust systems. Boggles the mind

That is going to catch to the lint weather it’s sitting in the vent or on the magnet
