@calmmoneycoach: 2.8 million Canadians work for themselves. Almost half are incorporated. That is not freelancing. That is real businesses. The version of starting your own thing sold to you online is mostly American. Mostly unicorn shaped. Mostly not what happens here. Most owners never try to scale. They do it for the autonomy. A business that pays a household income, on your own schedule, doing work you actually like. For most people, that is the win. Don’t build it to sell at year ten. I'm a mental health therapist, the only clients who seem to have money are people who are self-employed or have small businesses. frankly, they (this includes me) are living their best life, less work, more money
