Is California different to other states in some respects though since it is very liberal there in comparison? Also, in terms of pay, do you have to pay your own taxes there? So that’s something to consider I guess? There’s no PAYE as such is there? So it feels like a great NET pay but it’s a bit of a mind trick, that’s something that’d catch me out, out of sight out of mind sort of thing? Huge bill would land on my doorstep I’m sure 😂

The driving license thing is state dependent. You don’t have to retake the drivers test in every state.

I feel the same way about tax. I'm in San Francisco and I feel like there's a lot of public services, events, amenities, and infrastructure maintenance that feels like I'm getting decent value for money

wondering are you earning in euros or dollars? Because wouldn’t you be earning more in euros anyway so it would feel cheaper? Kind of like when we go to somewhere the dollar is stronger and make dollars?
