I used to think Christian rap was lame but once I surrendered to God He changed my taste for music.. I also discovered you, Red Tips, Alex Jean, Kijan Boone (who is elite btw), and some others and now it’s all I listen too other than worship and some Christian R&b.

Could Caleb have worded it better ? Absolutely but his message isn’t wrong , as time and generations pass on there’s new cultures and new sounds as long as your music is glorying Jesus and reaching out to people especially the newer generation in a positive way it shouldn’t matter , as someone who couldn’t stand Christian rap before this new sound and wave has made it so much more easier for me to completely cut off secular music these artist are no longer boxed in a shelf

I feel like I listen to CHH now much less than before even tho there are more artists I like. but I grew up with artists who have been making waves but been doing it for a long time before this “new gen”. Seeing Miles Minnick & his wife hustling before he got recognized, Brandonp, mission, etc. I think the issue is seeing CHH as ONE GENRE so anyone who makes anything over a HH beat and talks abt God is automatically CHH. Vs Secular HH has so many recognized sub-genres. CHH is new ENOUGH to not have recognized sub genres. I HATE a Carti type rapper/that genre but I LOVE a Cali Haitiibabii vs I don’t rlly enjoy all of Mozzys stuff. But we can’t deny MOZZYS IMPACT nor the ppl that made music like tht before him. I fear we are confusing disliking subgenres for disliking the ENTIRE thing. Because the only reason you could say you don’t like CHH would be that it talks abt God nd that can sound corny to others. But to say that CHH wasn’t good just because it wasn’t in your scope of interest or didn’t reach you isn’t necessarily valid.

We live and we learn, but I think it’s important to stay humble and focused on the true purpose in who you’re rapping about AND why they’re also doing it. So why put others down who paved the way for you… You have some of the courage you have today to rap about God, because of those same artists you called garbage.

Young people can say whatever but it’s about being respectful and not bringing down other people to get your point across.. it has to be fruitful .. when you become anything it’s because of God .. remember that.. God has a standard we can fall a way from that.. this is what brung all of artist down ,is speaking too much about their opinions and feelings and leaving God out of it ., proverbs is a rule of thumb .. we are to uplift correct

I have been listening to Christian rap heavy since the Mark of the East album dropped. back in the late 90's. Very few songs stand up to the test of time. There were alot of unskilled lyricist saying Jesus on a track.
