Brian used to be the voice of reason. Lois used to be a loving wife and mom. Chris used to be regular teenager, same with Meg. And Peter used to be an idiot of a father but learns his lesson by the end of the show. 😔😔😔 I miss their OG character traits (even the side characters were fully fleshed out back then)

Early Family Guy was about a quirky but loving family trying to survive an outlandish and chaotic world. A lot of the humour was situational, how the characters would be completely nonchalant about something like the Kool Aid man busting through a wall. Modern Family Guy is about a fairly normal world (besides some lingering elements that have stuck around from those early years) trying to survive an outlandish and chaotic family.

I agree with this so much. Going to the early seasons is such a shock nowadays since the humor and the characters are so different. Brian and Meg got the worse of it imo.

I never truly liked Lois or disliked her in the early seasons or now. She is very antihero to me

I liked piano teacher understanding lois I feel like it gave her more depth and because newer seasons lois would never had stayed poor with peter the way she did before
