Completely true! I love star wars because of my dad. I’ve learned a lot about all and have a “higher knowledge” than my dad. But some time ago he told me people miss the point and that it’s not a sci-fi film but actually a romance. And in my opinion he’s right. The movies show you to have hope towards what you love and to make sacrifices for it. But doing it the wrong way leads to the dark side. It’s interesting that George wanted us to see the right way to fight out the dark side first!

fact checking power scaling all those things are pointless to begin with because it's a fictional story the whole point of the story is for you to enjoy it people really need to learn how to just do that instead of analyzing everything

for me it's the stories in section and love the histories and understand when things change and just ignore anyone that want to berate someone for not knowing something or them ranting that's not cannon but not understanding the person is enjoying what they enjoy and let them as long as its not getting argumentative

but sometimes the facts can undermine the theme being attempted. you can say the story of the New Republic is about how a corrupt government can allow atrocities to repeat…but that gets undermined once you realize Mon Mothma was assigned a child-like perspective on conflict and politics in order for this to happen. it gets undermined once you realize Leia & Han had to be a different level of negligent in order for Snoke to corrupt Kylo. or the Palpatine Final Order stuff, why did Anakin’s force ghost never tell Luke about that when he saw it in a comic? when you don’t have these answers, or have to go read a book in order to find one…the story gets cheapened. and the theme becomes threatened, considering the writers had to contrive unnatural events in order for stuff like this to happen.
