Floridian here nomading half the year in cooler dry places. Maxx air fan doesn’t do much in hot humid weather but it very much does in hot dry weather.

What’s the outside temperature? And what’s R value on the insulation you used? 🤔

turn both upper fans to vent out and pull fresh air from side windows. also you need more fans to move air around inside and FIND SHADE during day.i have 8 Warmco rechargeable mini fans that work AMAZING that will fit and pull fresh air in those side windows really well. check them out on amazon!BUT SHADE during the day in hot weather is paramount! keep us posted!

With an outside air temp nearing 90, no fan is going to cool off the inside of a van much at all. You will require some kind of refrigeration for that.

Why not put them both to kill the hot air out? Doesn’t make sense to pull hot air inside

when I lived in my rv in Az. it's like 1.5 inches of weak insulation. I did closed cell 1 inch insulation 1 inch foam board and fiberglass insulation to survive AZ 118 degree summer so far on 105 degree day is about 90 in the bus

Once you have walls/ceiling up it will be a lot cooler. That metal really radiates heat. Get screens so you can have doors and windows open as much as possible. We used fans and elevation.

The only cooling that occurs with moving air is a function of the sweat evaporating on the body. Higher air speed over the skin (having a fan blowing directly on you) and lower humidity are the keys. Some conditions are not going to be comfortable.

you can have both fans exhaust air out and crack open the windows. the hotter air gets released up while the you get outside air getting pulled in. The issue is humidity. The only real way to combat that is to use an AC that will fill your van with cool, dry air.

I toss frozen water bottles in the sink and run a fan over them. Still muggy and hot but a touch better. I chase shade and skipped solar because of heat.

I you’re trying to keep everything 12v, I recommend a Dometic RTX2000. We have a 4kw battery bank, I can run the AC on EcoMode for about 16hrs. The time increase on a sunny day when the solar panels kick in.

The trick is you gotta keep it as cool as possible from the get go!! I have a divider wall/door in my build to separate the driver area from the back and it helps SO MUCH! Even with my window cover on the windshield it still gets way hotter up there but it doesn’t migrate to the back. I do have thermal covers for my windows in the back but honestly

Would recommend a outEquip I’ve been using it for the past couple months and it has become a life saver in the heat. Also bought a arctic air fan from Walmart for about 10$ all you do is fill up the water if you want and it’ll act as a small AC unit and works amazing especially if you can point it at you while laying down for bed or whenever you feel too hot
