It’s so hard finding that perfect cocktail. My son’s OCD’s are so bad. We finally got to 40mg of Prozac but not much improvement. He’s also on Wellbutrin 150mg XL

Atomoxetine- literally takes away ruminations. Downside is it requires 6 weeks to work and the dizziness sucks at first

We can’t all take clomipramine, though. If I did I’d be in status in a hot minute. Fluvoxamine kind of works but I can’t take the top range therapeutic dose because of refractory epilepsy

I was on clomipramine for i think 5 years. started having some high liver enzymes. switched to sertraline. aside from the transition phase, I say sertraline is working just as well

I have tried all SSRIs for my OCD, MDD, and anxiety. I found that (for me) Paxil was the best for anxiety, and it didn’t cause as much insomnia as other SSRIs. The side effects were not much worse than other SSRIs. I guess I liked that mild sedation for my extreme anxiety.

Would this work if you have the ss variant SLC6A4 gene (5-HTTLPR)? I have trialed 3 SSRIs and am about to move away completely from them. (I like my Wellbutrin too much to give it up for clomipramine :(
