As a private caregiver of 30 plus years please don’t take it personal. Nursing home is not the answer. If she has a home maybe find a live in caregiver exchange room and board for care . You’re welcome to reach out if I can help .

Believe me I feel for you. I see this kind of thing every day as a home health aid and it is just horrible. If there is any way you can afford it I would try to get a live in Caregiver. The nursing homes most of them I would say like 98% are just horrible. My husband is a nurse practitioner so he is in and out of them all day long and he is constantly telling me the kind of treatment that these patients receive . It just makes me so sad.

You may have to get a lawyer and go to court to be able to get the guardianship signed and put her in a senior living home it's different than a nursing home unless you know a good nursing home close by and know people that work there so she could get the good care she needs you could sell her home and car and use the money from that to help pay for things she needs and don't feel guilty and don't let people or family make you feel guilty your so right it's completely different when you have them in your home prayers that you can get the answers that will help you with this 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

I totally understand…… I took care of my mom with Alzheimer’s until I just couldn’t do it anymore. Nobody has a CLUE how difficult it is to be a caregiver , unless they’ve done it!!! The nursing home staff was good to my mother and she actually enjoyed being there…… my husband was officially diagnosed with Dementia about 8 yrs ago and 2 yrs ago it became more than I could mentally or physically handle… He is in a nursing home facility and I visit daily….. There is NOTHING wrong when you’ve done all you can & have to make that decision!! It would absolutely be the best call for all of you!! 🙏🙏❤️❤️

Girl,my mother is not out of her mind but I’m dealing with the same stuff. She makes to much to get help & it’s just me trying to be her caregiver. Your story sounds just like mine. I understand exactly what you’re going through!

From experience it’s so hard but sadly it finally gets to the point of having to go to a home. Can the dr. Insist on her going to a home? My MIL dr. told us “she cannot go home” so arrangements were made. Discuss with the doctor 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

The nursing home will take her house. Talk to an estate planner. She should not be off anxiety meds if she has taken it that long. Anxiety meds have to be tapered slowly.

Get power of attorney over her. And as someone who helped cared for my grandfather that had Alzheimer’s and worked in memory care. do not feel guilty about putting her in a memory care unit, you and your husband do deserve to keep yalls mental health intact. Caring for someone that is mentally gone, no where the person they used to be to, is tedious work, it take a toll on the mental health.

Can you get a court order to deem her mentally incompetent and unable to care for herself? Then maybe you could sell her home and car and either hire help in your home to help or place in a nrsg home care? My aunt had to place her husband in nursing home, he became a danger to himself and others. He was wondering out of the house at night, turning on the stove, etc. It was a very difficult decision but she couldn’t do it at home anymore. Much love to you friend. 🤗❤️
