I feel like a lot of it is also cause the translation from yen-press is very very poor in the light novels. I can't say if tappei does write like middle-school level in actual Japanese because I obviously don't know Japanese but I feel a lot of his writing gets really dumbed down in translation

Something both the LN and the Anime do really well l, but it’s more apparent in the LN, is the way characters talk, their cadence and vocabulary are often completely unique to THEM. Nobody is confusing Priscilla for Emilia, or Subaru for Ram.

I really enjoyed the WN translations from Ringo. Dude has a very sophisticated vocabulary. So much so, that I see people complaining in the comments sometimes 😭

Man I hate being a slow reader I've been reading the 1st volume for 1 hour just to realize I only read the first 10 pages 😭. And I could go faster, but oftentimes I reread the sentences to actually comprehend and imagine what is going on (considering I already watched the anime so I already have an idea what it looks like)

Exactly the more you read of a story the easier you'll be able to read as they almost always have a distinct style to writing which makes its way easier to read once youre used to it
