Our GameStop reps at the store we went to when we were kids literally told us this was an option all the time. They were like for preowned games. If you return within seven days, we can take it back for any reason so if you can beat it in seven days, you can return it and get something else lol

I “borrow” shit from stores all the time. They get absolutely everything back in perfect condition and use my own cables or whatever so there’s less packaging for me to find keep or wrestle back the way the factory does. The only one that I actually really wanted to keep was PSVR but it made me really dizzy and it wasn’t as good as a dedicated or PC headset so sadly I claimed the copy of iron man vr

They had a $150 no questions asked insurance policy on Xbox360 that was good for 2 years. Since the 360 was known for having issues I bought the policy once and right before it was set to expire I would return it for a brand new one. Did this like 3 times.

I have a friend who inflated his Xbox gamerscore this way. He'd spend a bit of time researching games and their achievements and compile a list of them all ranked from easiest to hardest, and he'd go buy one, get all the achievements in a day or two, then exchange it for the next one on his list.

So about 20 years ago.. GameStop had a trade deal where you trade 3 games.. get an extra $20 credit.. it had no limit minimum trade. At that time lot of older ps2 games were a few dollars.. like they had games as low as $2.. trade it in.. each game would give least a dollar.. turn that into $23 in credit.. if you wanted cash.. you could just put it on a game that was coming out in a week or so.. wait until release and cancel to get cash back in full..

I would always get a single player game i had a slight interest in and then id exchange it for a game id want to play all the time and play with friends. my parents weren't gonna take me to eb games every week

Back when Netflix used to mail you dvds and video game discs you could respond that you didn’t receive it and they’d send a new one no questions asked. Then I’d just returned one and keep the other. My brother and I had a huge collection.
