14 months ago I was at the end of my rope. I chose to stay. I didn’t have any particular reason other than I wasn’t sure what would happen to my dog. I didn’t want him to end up in the shelter. He would never understand what happened to me. That lead me to making a list of things I could start doing regularly again that would benefit me. I settled on brushing my teeth. For the next 3 weeks I didn’t really change anything except I prioritized brushing my teeth every morning and evening. After that it was doing a load of laundry every Saturday. Crazy thing happened, I eventually started showering again, and eating healthier. I stopped drinking and smoking weed. I started taking my dog on walks in the morning, I got counseling and got on meds. I’m 14 months sober and I’m living the life I never ever ever ever thought possible. Bro I went on a date last weekend! She wasn’t feeling me and ghosted but I’m ok! I didn’t crumble into dust. I had the audacity to try one more time to get better.

Back in 2024 I was in a very deep hole in my life, I was doordashing up until 1-2am just to try and make ends meet (they barely did.) I was constantly delivering food to the hospitals in my area that were under serious reconstruction/expansion, that had those huge sky high cranes. I can’t tell you the amount of times I would check the ladders of those cranes to find the one night they slipped up and didn’t lock it. Never did. Still don’t know how I feel about those times.
