The thing I hate about raids, is when the streamer stops their normal gameplay to address the raiders. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the streamer should ignore the raid. But some streamers milk it way too much. They pause the game for like 15 minutes, 30 minutes, sometimes longer. Transforming the game stream into a chat stream. As someone there to watch the game, it feels like one huge commercial break to me. So sometimes I lose patience and leave.

sorry to say it, but raids are not a growth strategy, they may have been years ago but the only time now a raid might result in a massive boon is like a 2k Andy raiding someone with like 20 viewers. even then, there's no chance those people are coming back next stream over their main streamer. your only value would be if that other streamer isn't streaming. and if you got raided chances are there is major overlap, meaning those people would not come over. tbh I think raids should be done away with

That’s the hard part about raids, when it’s small creators raiding other small creators with similar content focus it’s great. But when it’s a much bigger creator raiding a smaller creator it’s often times more hassle then it’s worth. Usually what happens is the chat becomes unreadable, notifications are going bananas, the smaller creator has none or almost no mods to help, then after like 5-10mins your viewer count goes back down to what it was because all those people wanted to watch the person raiding you not you.
