i wouldn’t be half the provider i am for 911 without ift experience. the way i speak to patients are night and day. i now have the ability to have somebody laugh and smile while dealing with their serious medical emergencies and they are able to remain calm and collected which results in better vitals for me

Idc if the trucks dirty in my IFT gig. It’s gonna be clean by the time I’m done with it and when it’s traded out I just clean the next one.

ift medic here quitting at my current service. my poorly maintained ambulance TURNED OFF ON ME AT 70 MPH like the engine was like peace so no gas and brakes were also going on that rig. switched into a new one only to find a nail in the tire, and switched again to find our ambulance needing fuel and onboard 02

I started out doing 12s in BLS IFT, moved to 48/96 in ALS IFT and now 911. Lemme tell you it gave me a whole new outlook on how I care for the truck and the station and talk to PTs

Actually, my ift amb is big and gorg, everything is digital, one of the latest models. most of our rigs are, if youre on als or cct shift at least. can’t complain.

Agreed, it also gives you a step above someone going zero to hero by having a understanding of the hospital systems and a rapport with the staff. As well as giving you a place to practice pt assessments and skills
