back in my day we did not have bear spray in Glacier. It boiled down to if you were lucky or not. I worked at Granite Park Chalet 3 years after the "The Night of the Grizzlies". For the first month park rangers placed a shotgun under my bed for storage. You can't be afraid. Same thing as swimming in the ocean. Bad things do happen. Walking across the street is dangerous too.
