It doesn’t slam anything except maybe a lifter. And unless you’re driving in the mountains it doesn’t switch much. Not saying I like the cylinder shutoff just saying you’re kinda misleading people who don’t know how it works.

I gained mileage running a afm disabler. Our 2015 suburban gained around 1.5 to 2mpg on our trips from wisco to Florida. GM completely failed running these motors with cylinder deactivation.

They put that stupid feature on my 650 HP 2015 Corvette Z06. It would lug like hell in 4 cyl mode. I had it permanently removed and replaced the lifters.

I mean what did they expect? You lose way too much hp and torque to keep the truck rolling. My little Honda has the cylinder shutoff and goes from 6-3 cylinders but it actually increases the mpg by a significant amount like I can see 20mpg to upwards of 32
