HOW TO SWIM FREESTYLE 🏊🏻‍♀️🏊🏻 STEP 2️⃣: A GOOD HEAD POSITION! The way you hold your head in freestyle is extremely important. Even if your body position is good, an incorrect head position can create a lot of extra resistance. When your head sticks out too far, either looking forward or tucking it too much, your body line breaks, and your hips and legs will sink. The goal is to keep your head in a neutral position, perfectly aligned with the rest of your body. Think of your head as a natural extension of your spine. How to do this: -Look straight down at the bottom of the pool. -Keep your neck relaxed. -Your head stays still and neutral (don’t actively lift it). -You keep looking down until it’s time to rotate to breathe. You don’t lift or move your head to breathe. Instead, your head simply rotates together with your body.  As soon as you finish the breath, your face returns straight back down into the water.
