My twins, Jamil and Muhammad, are still so small… their eyes too innocent to understand why their milk is gone, why their bellies ache, or why their father sometimes stares into the distance, trying not to cry. When the war ended, the world celebrated peace but here, we are still fighting to survive. The buildings may be quiet, but our hearts are still trembling. The streets are covered in dust, the air is heavy, and our lives are far from normal. Every morning I wake up and whisper a prayer that today, maybe someone out there will see us not just as faces on a screen, but as human souls in pain, clinging to life through faith and your kindness. No parent should ever feel this helpless. To hear your children cry from hunger and have nothing left to give… it tears you apart. But even in the middle of all this suffering, I still believe in humanity in people like you who have helped us, who have prayed for us, who have shared our story when we couldn’t speak for ourselves.
