Don’t show him the toys & activities until he’s on the plane, he’ll get excited then to have new things to play with! We used reusable stickers so he could put them on the window and we could easily remove.

I did something similar for my son, but I also got him his own backpack and he didn’t get to see it until we were at the gate! He was excited to carry his own bag and he got to pick one thing at a time to do. Before I knew it our 7 hour flight had like and hour left and that final hour was when he watched his tablet! 😊 It worked perfectly and people were commenting on how he was the perfect toddler for traveling and some people didn’t even know a toddler was only few rows away from them! Haha

Definitely put Netflix & Disney+ on the tablet and download several movies and shows on each app so he can watch using WiFi. Color magic coloring books (only uses one marker so you’re not having to pick up a million crayons off the floor). Oh, and my kids love the little LCD screen coloring pads. The pen is attached with a bungee so you don’t lose it and it’s compact, and no mess!!

temporary tattoos will work with a baby wipe! Works like a charm! We used them in line at disney for my toddler, also mini playdough containers! :)

Flew with a 2 year old and 3 month old by myself to Spain! If you think you are packing enough snacks … still pack more! My 2 year old ate a full Thanksgiving meal of snacks on the flight and we still ran out. 😳 Toddler headphones! Make sure to practice with headphones and tablet beforehand.

Don’t take out all of the new toys at once. Show him one thing at a time. You may not even need it all and can use the other stuff on ride home. Lots and lots of snacks! Bottle/drink for take off and landing. Let him walk the aisle when he gets restless. Don’t get stressed if he is having a hard time. Everyone has been there before.

sticker wow was a lifesaver when my son was that age and flying... also... being his carseat on the plane. it sounds counterintuitive, but my son felt safe and comfortable. he did so much better with his carseat than in a seat by himself at that age.

A mom friend told me wrap up each item and give one each hour of flight, it was a fun countdown, my girls got to unwrap a fun surprise and she didn’t go through all the new toys in a couple of hours, also practice with the headphones for the tablet before the flight so he’s used to wearing them.
