I’m a labor nurse, the squatty potty is genius. You can use it in labor too, the toilet is already a great spot to sit to get baby in a good position and that would help even more. My biggest tip is bring a heating pad. It helps in labor and for postpartum contractions. It helps more than any medication we can give you.

Yes girl!! My first baby I brought a huge suitcase and people laughed at me! I ended up being there for FIVE days and didn’t have to send my husband out for anything because it was all in the suitcase!!!

Even if you did over pack, who cares? It's better to be over prepared than to be under prepared. Especially if you don't live close to where you are delivering.

I’d separate the items based on what you want to have during labor and items for after. My hospital told us not to bring all our things to the labor room and have my husband go get the bags for when we’re in the recovery room. I ended up having to reorganize them in the car😵💫

Okay hear me out, AN EXTRA EMPTY BAG. Take everything they will give and ask for more!! The peri bottle they give you sucks for you but is amazing for the first few months of baby baths. I used them constantly to keep control of the water

Yes! As a labor nurse I’m glad you toured the hospital and they told you that they have all diapers, tucks, pads etc. I tell all my patients to use our stuff and save their ~nice~ frida mom stuff for at home. Like the least the hospital can do is provide you with some “free” tucks pads ya know

3rd time mom and I think it’s pretty reasonable actually, there are things you won’t use but that’s okay. One thing I don’t remember you mentioning but would recommend is shower shoes.
