@judy.lim: Orange is everyone’s go to color corrector for brown skin is always orange but I find a lot of times what is needed is actually gold or yellow. this is especially true for people with olive undertones who don’t need intense color correction! @M·A·C Cosmetics studio fix 24 hr color corrector in ochre and orange @Makeup By Mario surreal skin natural finish foundation mixed 8n and 12o to match her body @rephr brushes shodo 05 (foundation) Shodo 02 (orange) 36 (ochre) #colorcorrector #southasian #makeuptutorial @Monica Ravi-Conway

Ochres & yellows are excellent to adjust but shouldn't be used on sallow skin. Sallow discoloration means yellow / grey brown. Purples & lavenders correct it.
Not all oranges are created the same. The depth & warmth scale make all the difference depending on the area your correcting. Generally speaking any area that is darker / discolored will have a cooler undertone which is why oranges & peaches have been used by pros for decades to warm up the discoloration to neutral. Color corrector should never be seen on the skin - if you're seeing a cast of color, it's to much. You should only see neutral when expertly applied.

As someone who works mostly on asian skin tones, I love mixing a bit of yellow in my orange correctors i find it always works better 😍

The richness of the color correction should match the discoloration so no, not orange, a light salmon would’ve sufficed here. She wouldn’t need the saturation of a deep orange.

I’ve been doing these for yearssss. I have an olive skin tone but I always use a concealer with yellow or golden undertones to cancel out my hyperpigmentation. NARS is my favorite 🥰

I discovered this by accidentally reaching for Ochre in my MAC concealer palette. The only problem is picking a formula that doesn’t mix with foundation and concealer. Everything will look yellow 😂

It's not only about your skin tone, it's about the color of discoloration you have, it is purple? Blue? Orange? Yellow? Green? Red?

Yes the ochre colour is really needed in a makeup kit !! I worked at MAC when they did the double ended correctors (half orange base and half ochre base in different depths) they were great took the guess work out for the every day client 😌
