@the.dream.den: Rating one of the greatest crystal collections on earth in London, UK 💎 The Natural History Museum in London has been standing since 1881 — but the collection itself goes back over 260 years. 500,000 mineral specimens. Rocks, gems and crystals gathered from every corner of the planet, some of them collected before modern gemology even existed as a field. This is centuries of the earth’s geological history housed in Victorian cabinetry in one of the most stunning buildings in London — and we had to come here on our European sourcing trip because this is exactly the kind of place that reminds you why we do what we do. I have four generations of gemstone experience, and we are giving you our honest ratings. The good: crystallised gold nicknamed The Dragon ⭐️ 11/10. A 1,383 carat uncut Colombian emerald that belonged to a Duke ⭐️ 10/10. A tanzanite so large it would cost hundreds of thousands in today’s market. A cursed amethyst looted from an Indian temple in 1857 that allegedly destroyed the life of every person who ever owned it. A crystallised rose quartz with muscovite that stopped us completely ⭐️ 10/10. The honest: a lot of rocky specimens that felt more scientific than gemmy. Some amethyst we’ve genuinely seen better of at gem shows. The large diamond display was made of glass replicas. 2/10. The vault, however, was absolutely world class. Some of the rarest individual specimens we have ever stood in front of. This is the standard we source to. And what we found on this trip is coming straight to you: Italy + UK Live Sale. June 7th. 🌿💎 #naturalhistorymuseum #crystals #minerals #rarecrystals #crystalcommunity

I love you and your content, but I will say if i'm gonna bark at my kids to keep their fingers off the glass because somebody has to wipe off their fingerprints.Maybe not touching the glass so much at a museum would be kind.
