During this time, she fliming for Why Did I Get Married Too? And there’s a scene in the movie where she’s sitting in the dark and wants her friends to leave her home. In an interview she did later, she explains that scene was raw emotion to her grieving her brother bc she had so much going on during the time of his death, she felt she couldn’t properly grieve him. She would cry a lot of over Michael on set.

It makes me think of an interview/statement Prince made about filming the movie. When he first saw Jaafar in full makeup/costume, he had to take a minute away because he said “ I hadn’t seen my dad in a long time” I can’t imagine how bittersweet watching this movie has been for them, being so proud of Jaafar but also gut-punched a bit that Michael is gone 💔
