Maybe the solution lies outside engineering. And in another theoretical field: psychology. If the code can be created by AI the solution could very well be to move the human expertise and intervention to another abstraction and validation level. We can focus on understanding the users needs, motivation and actions and use that as test for the system instead of focusing on the code it self.

Architecture matters. This was the point of The Mythical Man Month,and is what most Agile shops I’ve been around forgot. Agents make it easier to make bigger mistakes faster — if you don’t have a firm grasp of what you’re building towards long-term.

I produce three times more output with Claude. My bottleneck is concentrating intensely on that much volume. Claude won’t get fired for mistakes , but I will.

I understand the position that you’re taking with this particular process flow, a.k.a. workflow. However, it’s still does not take into an account the refinement and creation of specifications.. Proper specifications a lot of of what you’re talking about will not even occur.

After all, effective communication is the key on a large org, and our capacity to communicate effectively is not increasing proportionally to individual productivoty

I tell my teams to use AI agents in very focused ways and not liberally creating 1000's of LoC. They must understand what is merged. Also critically never trust tests written by agents as they tend to ve biased to pass.

Docs folders summary changes made, markdown files, code references and legend, backend / frontend and never let Ai run on auto, just have it work alongside similar to a sous chef, any professional developer can now run AI and complete projects as if he has a full team.
