@chelslovesit: 🐧 Can you believe we get to see these little guys completely for free and without having to drive all the way down to Phillip Island?? Every single night at sunset, 1,400 little penguins waddle their way back to St Kilda Pier after a day out in the ocean. It’s unreal that this is just... here. In Melbourne. Tickets are free but you do need to book online, they drop every Tuesday at 10am for the following week. BUT if you miss out, check back 30 minutes before the first session (around 4.30pm is when I scored mine!) because they release any cancelled tickets then. Also, try to get the first session over the second. I went to the second and the penguins had mostly already settled in by then, so you miss the best bit of watching them actually swim in and make their way up the rocks. Let me know if you’ve been able to catch them! And huge shoutout to @seeshots for the hot tip on the last min tix 📍 St Kilda Pier, Melbourne #stkilda #stkildapenguins #thingstodomelbourne #freethingstodomelbourne #penguinsmelbourne
So if the tickets release this Tuesday they’ll have tickets for Friday?

Catherine :
I live a couple suburbs from there but did not know they now sell tickets to see the St Kilda penguins. I assume this has been a thing since the new pier opened? Thank you so much for sharing!
