My son loves having his nails painted. So I’m taking him to have his first real manicure this summer. He also is very excited to go fishing with his new pole and build himself a fort in the woods with his stepdad.

I went to Ulta with my 9 year old son and 13 year old nephew and they spent a solid hour testing perfumes and make up and legitimately had the best time. They asked to go back the next day.

My son picked out Gucci bloom for his ‘good smeller’. He wanted one of his own just like mom, I let him pick out whatever one he wants. He picked it because the bottle looked cool. Now it’s a birthday tradition. He can pick out whatever perfume or cologne he wants. It’s his life. He’s my son but he’s still an individual.

Kids should be allowed to explore their interests in all things whether they be traditionally masculine or feminine things. My brother growing up loved Powerpuff Girls but he also liked Power Rangers and Pokémon. He’s 16 and he’s a very typical 16 year-old boy, but he used to love to sing and dance when he was very little. My mom didn’t shut him down on anything. He made his choices on his interests based on the things that he got to experience, which was a lot of different things.

I have twin boys. One has always loved getting his nails done. I’ve bought him quite the collection, he even does mine, lol. It’s just nail polish. He also likes to watch and help me with makeup. It’s always been our bonding time before I go out. Let kids like what they like. It’s no biggie.
