in the UK we arent allowed to accrue the holiday time after the financial period so its 28 days a year and if you dont take them they can sometimes pay you in lieu or you lose remaining days completely

14 days off? Wow we have 28 days! You need time off to relax mentally or physically in order to be rested to do you your job properly.

In DK you get a mandatory 5 weeks off per year (many get more) and on top of that you get 12.5% of your gross salary as holiday money. So I was slightly disappointed when I moved to NL where you’re only entitled to 4 weeks paid time off and only receive 8% of your gross salary in holiday money. They are usually paid out just before the summer starts.

British are not required to have any contact during their holiday’s in fact if your job tries to keep calling etc while you are away that’s reportable to HR

Employers aren't even allowed to contact us outside work hours. The US work people to death structure seems insane. That bloke took sick out of PTO 😳 Sickness and annual leave are 2 different things
