As a songwriter, I know that inspiration can come from different seasons of life. Sometimes it comes during worship, sometimes in moments of joy, and sometimes in moments of deep sadness. Even when my songs point to faith and trust in God, the emotions behind them are often very different. Listening to this song, I can only imagine what this young man may have been going through when he sat down to write it. To anyone who may be struggling right now: you are worth far more than you can think or imagine. Please don’t see death as your only way out or your only path to peace and happiness. You are loved. those who condemn the art in the lyrics, what would you say about Dax's lyrics, Eminem's lyrics and other artists who use dark poetry? he's simply describing what a troubled heart possibly soliloquize. also it's a two way mirror, for those who mistreat people until they feel miserable in love, work, friendships etc, if this can tug on their conscience, it's a win. there's a whole broad spectrum to this song. I've worked in psychiatry and there are people who can't express how they feel but if a song can perfectly capture their emotions, they feel alleviated. so if you don't understand something, just don't condemn it straight up. peace 🥰
