not really how it works though is it 🤣 the money is just public sector money which gets paid for by borrowing and taxes, from people working in the private sector, so if crime didn't exist government spending would be lower

Crime/prison is a deterrent to keep people in their place in capitalism

it's always been the case made worse by the privatisation of prisons. it's why you'll never hear MP'S say "get rid" or "eradicate crime". they just want to reduce it to a safer to manage state as well as using it as a way to boost taxes and use in policies. crime and punishment has always been something MP's use as a scare tactic.
