1. They make everything about themselves. No matter what the situation is, they find a way to bring the attention back to themselves. Even when you're talking about something you're struggling with, they turn the conversation into something about their feelings, their problems, or what you've supposedly done to them. 2. They never want to admit they're wrong. A narcissist can argue for hours just to avoid saying, “I was wrong.” Instead of taking responsibility, they blame someone else, make excuses, change the story, or bring up something you did in the past to take the attention away from their behavior. 3. They twist your words. You can say something completely simple, and they will turn it into something you never meant. They take your words out of context, focus on one little part of what you said, and use it against you. Eventually, you start questioning whether you explained yourself correctly in the first place. 4. They blame you for their behavior. Instead of taking responsibility for how they treated you, they make their behavior your fault. They say things like, “I only did that because you made me mad,” or “If you hadn't done that, I wouldn't have acted this way.” 5. They use guilt to control people. When you don't do what they want, they make you feel guilty for it. They act hurt, disappointed, offended, or betrayed so that you feel like you have to give in just to keep the peace. 6. They don't respect boundaries. When you say no, they don't simply accept it. They question your decision, argue with you, pressure you, or make you feel guilty for having a boundary in the first place. They want their way, even when you've clearly said you aren't comfortable with something. 7. They have a completely different standard for themselves. They can criticize you for doing something while making excuses when they do the exact same thing. What is “unacceptable” when you do it suddenly becomes “not a big deal” when they do it. 8. They can make you question your own memory. They deny things they said or did, change details of conversations, and insist that events happened differently than you remember. This can leave you constantly wondering, “Did I actually remember that wrong?” 9. They care a lot about how other people see them. They can work hard to appear kind, generous, successful, or perfect around other people while behaving completely differently behind closed doors. They care deeply about protecting the image they have created. 10. They leave you feeling emotionally drained. After constantly dealing with blame, arguments, guilt, criticism, manipulation, and having your feelings dismissed, you can feel completely exhausted. You find yourself thinking carefully about everything you say because you're worried about how they'll react. 🚩 Sometimes the biggest sign isn't one specific thing they say or do—it's how you consistently feel after dealing with them. #narcissist #struggling #narcissisticrelationship #fyp
