Sir, you are judging people not knowing their situations. Financially my husband and I do fine when there's 2 incomes but when he gets sick for weeks and loses his job, credit gets messed up.

Nobody can live on $600 a week. That’s only a little more than$30,000 a year!

This is why financial education, taxes, and budgets need to be taught in high schools.

Forget the apartment, rent a room. I did this for a year and saved up enough for a small down payment on a condo. It wasn’t easy, but I had a goal and stuck to it. So, rent a room, payoff your debt, build your credit rating up and put 3 months pay in your savings and then find a studio apt. You can do it.

credit scores are a problem. people trying to pay as they go and not be in debt get punished for being responsible.

I agree with in some cases but this is not one of those cases. My credit went bad not because bad decisions but for unfortunate circumstances. You don’t know her background, yet you jump into conclusions.

People need to stop judging . I lost my job in 2024 and it took me a year to find another job and it wasn’t for lack of trying . I used up all my savings until I ran out and missed payments after that . I now make really good money and have brought my credit back to good . You have no idea what people are going through . I also had a sick kid living with me and no second income .

My credit spiraled out of control the last year. My husband passed years ago. Last year, I was diagnosed with a severe medical condition that requires weekly procedures & I missed 3 months of work, no disability payments, went through my savings, maxed out my credit cards & fell behind on my mortgage. Now I can only work 30 hours a week around my procedures & dr appts. You never know how fast you can go down.

My first question is, what happened with the last place you were renting? And I like Anton’s observation, you don’t find yourself in these dire situations overnight night. It’s typically a series of poor decisions over years that led someone of your age to this point.🤷 I wish you well sister. Please know I’m not judging you. Just expressing an opinion that I know could be wrong.

That is America today. everyone is using CCs to pay their bills, get gas or eat and can't afford to pay it back due to interest rates and fees. This is America today

I was a business owner and so is my husband. After Covid, we lived off of savings because our businesses were so badly affected, and it was hard to recover. Our credit got bad because we were constantly laid on our mortgage, even though we eventually caught up with everything. Business just got better the past month and a half. The only difference I will say is that my husband and I combined comes to work together and make it happen. All of these single households are not faring very well under these circumstances.

Serious question cause I don't know: Is the city/county/whatever obligated to give a rental apartment to someone who needs it, regardless of their creditscore or anything?
